Meet Dr. Ricklefs

Dr. Ricklefs was born and raised on a farm near Rolfe, Iowa. Her love of animals began at a young age as she raised and cared for pets of all types and was even involved with production animals. She graduated from Iowa State University Veterinary College in 1980. Following graduation, she practiced in a small pet vet clinic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Ricklefs later worked as an associate and manager of an emergency clinic in Racine, Wisconsin. She was involved in the opening of another practice in central Iowa prior to opening her veterinary clinic in Ames, Iowa.

In 1984, Dr. Ricklefs opened All Pets Animal Hospital in Ames, Iowa. With over 40 years of experience, she is a knowledgeable veterinarian and accomplished surgeon, as well as a member of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association. She puts pets and owners at ease with her friendly and caring personality. She is a natural pet lover and has a large family of assorted pets at her home.

Dr. Ricklefs enjoys providing quality care to all pets and particularly enjoys the opportunity to care for pocket pets, birds, reptiles and other exotic pets. In addition, she has a special place in her heart for kitties and, of course, loves dogs, too. During her spare time, Dr. Ricklefs enjoys spending time with her family and caring for pets, big and small, on their farm. Her hobbies include running, competing in adventure and road races, most recently the Tough Mudder, the 1/2 marathon in the Des Moines Marathon and the Living History Farms Race, spending time outdoors and being a dedicated Mom to her 5 almost grownup kids and pets.
